Potentially the best "war is madness and many of us are cannon fodder for the evil people who run the world" movie ever made. This is a war movie with comparatively little violence. Beautiful cinematography with an excellent ensemble cast. Professional production values in a Hollywood big picture sort of way, but without the clichéd unreal ending that studios normally require for big box office.
